At the Mindfulness Backpacking Retreat we blend yoga and meditation with the outdoors. This weekend is an opportunity for women to come together, exchange ideas and experience multiple days in the backcountry. Whether it’s your first time backpacking or you’re a seasoned pro this retreat is an opportunity to spend time in nature and connect with yourself.

Backpacking

During our Mindfulness Backpacking Retreat we will spend three days and two nights in the backcountry of the Olympic National Park.

The purpose of our backpacking program is to create a space for women to enhance their knowledge of backpacking and enjoy the outdoors together.

Over the weekend our instructors (Wilderness First Responders and Leave No Trace practitioners) are available to help you learn the basics of backpacking and answer any questions you may have.

Mindfulness & Yoga

Over the weekend you will have the opportunity to participate in meditation practices, mindful walking sessions and daily yoga. Mindfulness practice has been shown to improve one’s ability to manage stress and anxiety. From the high peaks of the Himalayas to the rolling hills of Ireland, people have been hiking as a way to show devotion to the gods. During our Mindfulness Backpacking Retreat, we ask you to show this commitment and belief towards yourself.

Meals

At our retreat we make it a priority to provide the best tasting food with the highest quality ingredients.

Over the weekend our chef Tory will cook breakfast and dinner, providing alternatives for anyone with dietary restrictions.

And dessert. We firmly believe that dessert is essential to a happy life.

Schedule

Day One

9 am: Meet at Quinault Ranger Station

9-10 am: Group introductions and gear distribution

10 am: Drive to Graves Creek Trailhead

11 am- 5 pm: Begin hike to campsite

5 pm: Set-up camp

6- 7 pm Yoga

7-8 pm: Dinner

8:30- 10 pm: Relax

Day Two

8- 9 am: Breakfast

9:30 am-5 pm: Hike to Enchanted Valley

1:30 pm: Meditation Practice by the river in Enchanted Valley

3 pm: Hike back to camp

6- 7 pm Yoga

7-8 pm: Dinner

8:30- 10 pm: Campfire

Day Three

8- 9 am: Yoga

9- 9:30 am: Breakfast

9:30 - 10:30 am: Pack up camp

11 am- 3 pm: Hike back to trailhead

3:30- 4 pm: Lite stretching and goodbyes
